Research Project Information
This page is designed to address the needs of all research projects for the Rapelje High School. Follow the steps below to ensure your project's success!
1. Once you receive your assignment, have your teacher approve your topic.
2. During study hall or class work time, come to library and begin researching the books and magazines we have available. To understand the difference between journals and magazines, read this quick PDF.
3. Research your topic on Infotrac or view the tutorial for Infotrac. Do not forget to note all citation information as you are gathering resources!
4. Research other sites. Mrs. Thompson will pick up books from the MSU Billings Library and Parmly Library if you ask nicely.
5. If you are still having trouble finding resources, talk to Mrs. Thompson. Before doing an internet search, read the Criteria to Evaluate Credible Resources page. This will help you find the best internet sources. Also check out Google Scholar for other sources.
6. Once you have finished gathering and processing your research, review sample papers to understand how the paper should be organized. APA Sample Paper and MLA Sample Paper
7. Do not forget to properly cite your sources in your paper! To create a proper works cited page, go to Bibme.org. Always check spelling and punctuation of any online works cited generator you use!
